Montreal maven Priori's continued rush of beautifully rendered club magic manifests in a new album on the NAFF label he co-steers with Ex-Terrestrial. As you may well expect by now, his approach balances beauteous ambient passages full of advanced synthesis with delicate techno and rolling broken beat, imbued with a sense of warmth and playfulness but never at the expense of the music's emotional depth. Stand-out moments on Your Own Power include slowly unfurling downtempo bliss-out 'Shkrub' and the brooding, cerebral passages of 'The Village', but truthfully the whole album plays out in a cascade of immaculate production and heartwarming composition. The NAFF gear always flies out, so don't sleep on this one.
