Release description
South London's Rob Pearson catches UK tech house in that brief late-90s window where the music still sounded slightly feral, before everything became so polished and deodorised. 'Slipstream' wriggles forward on clipped breakbeats and bulbous sub bass while synth lines bend and smear like heat rising off studio equipment at 4am. 'Vortex' pinches some of Detroit's chrome-plated hypnosis, though Pearson drags it somewhere murkier in temperament. There's a lovely grubby swing to 'Metaphor' too, all bleep motifs and warehouse-house pressure haze. Even the bonus beats version has a rude kind of functionality to it.
