Release description
A decade ago, following the release of Satoshi Tomiie's fantastic New Day album, the New York-based Japanese artist delivered an EP featuring Ron Trent interpretations of LP highlight 'Thursday, 2am'. Now he's decided to reissue them, removing his 'tool dub edit' and adding what appears to be a previously unreleased '7am Dub', an ultra-deep, fluid, electronic and astonishingly immersive chunk of early morning dancefloor hypnotism. Like the other two mixes (the EP-opening main remix, with its starry keys, undulating bass, bonus hand percussion and jazzy synth stabs, and the more stripped-back and groove-based 'remix dub'), the '7am Dub' recalls the warm, ultra-dreamy and intoxicating sound with which Trent made his name on Prescription Records way back in the late 1990s.
