There's rather a lot of electro EPs around right now, though few are quite as interesting, energetic and full of great ideas as Simon Brown's latest excursion as The Dexorcist. The experienced producer hits the ground running via the moody, aggressive and thrillingly heavy electro/breaks fusion of 'Dweller', before combining star fall synthesizer melodies, rumbling sub-bass and high-tempo electro beats on the equally as impressive 'Come and See'. Over on the flip, 'Another Way Story' is an effortlessly exuberant slab of rave-era breakbeat hardcore revivalism - all heavy sub-bass, cut-up riffs and chiming melodies - while 'Generation AST' adds razor-sharp, minor-key riffs, flash-fried funk bass and sweaty MC samples to another bustling hardcore breakbeat.
