Laurent Garnier's forever-mysterious COD3 QR imprint continues its habit of pairing Chicago house lifers with the French scene's current crop, vinylizing another elite picking of essentials (still organic and homegrown, not GM). Case in point is K Alexi Shelby, whose opening cut, 'House Music De Chicago', returns just what the title invests, weighing in with jazzy, unpretentious, Latin-vocal-sample house, with a low, wind-tunnelling whoosh texture adding cement to the structure. Voltaire goes clear with the chord-beeping 'Some House', before Finder ascends an IDM platform on 'Team Dream', and Rotterdam's Lost Souldancer (Benny Rodrigues) blossoms out to full arp-gasm on 'Magnolia'.
