Detroit's Brian Kage keeps it local with his latest coming on the Michigander label. He has long since proven his deep house credentials and excels again here, starting with the grainy textures and smoky basement vibes of the dub infused opener 'Reels For The Wheels.' The pace picks up with 'Oberdub' but it remains couched in dub, even as the drums become more upright and tech-leaning. 'Learn To Surrender' (Funk D'Void remix) keeps the warm, layered grooves but infuses the mood with a touch of cosmic serenity then 'Dubz On 12' shuts down with a darker mood but remains just as immersive. Fad-free and atmospheric gems.
