20 years after it first landed on Bobby and Steve's Soul Heaven Records imprint - once the UK's foremost soulful house outlet - Peven Everett's 'Stuck' returns to stores via a must-check reissue specialists Groovin' Records. Wisely, the Italian outfit has chosen to showcase two of the more celebrated and sought-after rubs. On side A, Danny Krivit delivers a lovely 12-minute edit in which Everett's effortlessly soulful vocals ride hypnotic, soft-touch drums, jazzy guitar licks, warming bass guitar and jammed-out electric piano keys. Krivit's version has long been an anthem at Body & Soul NYC and remains a fine, stretched-out revision. The late Phil Asher takes over on side B, balancing soulful deep house jazziness with a more driving garage-house groove.
